Monuments Galore

It's a well known fact that Washington D.C. is jam-packed with monuments and memorials. Recently, we've been trying to hit a few of them. So here are some pictures from some ultra famous and also some lesser known memorials.

Lincoln Memorial

Jefferson Memorial

World War II Memorial- This one is fairly new.

FDR Memorial- He must have really liked his dog.
All of our girls liked the pooch too!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

We sure love our three girls. They are all really good friends to each other. They are also always coming up with fun things to do. Here are a few recent instances.

Our three girls piled into the toy bin

All three of our girls love to look at books. Lydia and Rachel
really enjoy checking out books from the library. One day I
found them cuddled up together enjoying their new reads.

Charity has discovered that she can disorganize my
kitchen cupboards with greater ease if she climbs
into them. That way she can reach all the way to
the back of the cupboard and leave no can unturned.

There is Beauty All Around

Virginia is such a beautiful place! Everything is so green. Forests just naturally grow around here, instead of fields of sagebrush. Recently, we've checked out a couple of beautiful parks and here are some pictures.

We went for a walk through this beautiful park that is
just a couple minutes from our house.

This was taken at Riverbend Park, near Great Falls National Park.
We had a picnic here with Aaron and Rachelle (friends that went
to high school with Kenny) and their kids.

Also at Riverbend Park...you'd think we could have at least
gotten one of the kids to look at the camera!

Happy Birthday Charity!

Charity just celebrated her first birthday! Boy, time really flies! She seemed to enjoy the day and loved playing with the balloons, bows, wrapping paper, and her new presents. She especially enjoyed devouring her cupcake! We all had a fun day!

Pitter patter

We think Charity will start walking pretty soon. She loves to walk around pushing her hippo or her other push toy. Sometimes Lydia or Rachel will sit in the hippo and Charity will push them around. Charity actually just took her first step all by herself. Before we know it she'll be running around the house with her sisters! Here is a hippo walk video clip.

A few more sights

We're still enjoying seeing all the sights we can during our time here in the D.C. area. Here are a few more things we've seen recently.

Rachel and Lydia really enjoyed watching airplanes land from a
park near Reagan National Airport

Popcorn popping around the Washington Monument

Easter 2008

We realize we're a little bit late on blogging about Easter. We've been updating our computer and haven't been able to get online recently. We had a nice, relaxing Easter. All of the kids enjoyed the Easter egg hunt Sunday morning...the Easter bunny even left Charity some dried apple treats. The girls all wore new matching dresses to church and then we enjoyed a nice meal at home. Later that day Rachel and Lydia dyed eggs.
