Back to School

It's hard to believe that school is back in session! My kids love school and were thrilled to jump right in!

My second graders- They are back in the same class
this year and love being together.  They insisted on
dressing exactly the same the first few days
so that there was no question that they were twins.

So excited to start kindergarten

They're growing up so fast! My little buddy and I have half the day to ourselves, and he's always asking where his sisters are.  Don't worry, I'm sure he'll get used to having all the attention to himself soon.

Where did the summer go?

I realize that once again I have fallen behind on the blogging.  Where on earth has the summer gone? Here is a quick recap of a few happenings from this summer.

Kenny and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.
I made him this cake to celebrate.

These kids are great at coming up with crazy fun!

We went as a family to Minnetonka Cave in Idaho.

Yellowstone Trip

We took our family up to Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a trip.  We had a great time.  The kids were great sports.  They enjoyed seeing the different things, but made sure to point out to us that there was more walking than they expected.  We were all exhausted by the end of the trip but loved seeing so many neat things and spending time together.

I love how in this picture you can see the reflection
of the bison the kids are looking at.

Old Faithful

Proof that we were all exhausted.  Kenny kept feeling
Hyrum's head hitting his neck before he realized he was asleep.

I took this as Kenny and I were packing our stuff up to head home.
There weren't many kid shows on tv so they were engrossed in the Food Network.

Charity turns 5!

Charity had a great birthday! It's crazy to think that she's five years old now and will be going to kindergarten this fall.  She seemed to enjoy the extra attention she received that day.

Birthday girl

Charity wanted a tiered cake like this.  Her instructions were
very specific: the bottom layer was chocolate cake, the top
layer was yellow cake, there was pink frosting that was mint
flavored, and she picked out the candy and decorated it herself.

This is Charity the day she came home from the hospital.
I had never seen so much hair on a baby before!

We love Charity and feel so blessed that she's part of our family!

Happy Birthday Hyrum!

Hyrum recently turned two years old! It's so cliche to say....but time really flies!  He had a great birthday.  He wanted a "doggie" cake since he loves dogs.  What did he want to do most for his birthday?  Ride the merry-go-round! I love the simple wishes of a two-year-old! We love Hyrum and we're so glad to have him in our family!

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter! Despite all the candy and Easter Bunny business, I am so grateful for the opportunity we have at Easter to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and to reflect on His resurrection and all that He has done for us. May we remember Him all the year through.

7 year old twins!

Lydia and Rachel had a great seventh birthday! They enjoyed being sung to and handing out treats at school. For dinner, they wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse so that they could sit on the birthday saddle and get free ice cream. They also got to enjoy presents and cake and ice cream. It was a simple birthday but loads of fun.

Lydia created this sign for me to hang up

They wanted to be the ones to decorate the cake. I made
a number 7 cake, but they chose what kind of
candy to put on it and decorated it themselves.

Happy Birthday to our sweet girls! We love you!
I can't believe they are seven years old already!
