Stars and Stripes Forever

We had a great Fourth of July! It's really neat to see the fireworks in the nation's capital. We decided not to fight the crowds directly on the mall. Instead we watched the fireworks from across the Potomac River. It was great...we had an awesome view, no crowds, and we were home by 10:00!

Here we are waiting for the fireworks to begin

All three of the girls preferred the camp
chairs over the blankets on the ground

A spectacular reminder of how blessed
we are to live in the United States

How lucky to get to see the fireworks in DC! And a great idea to beat the crowds.

That is a great idea. We went right to the mall last year and it was awesome, but riding the metro home was a nightmare. Beautiful pictures.

I am so glad that you guys were able to see the fireworks in DC. It is really pathetic but after living in MD for 4 years we never were there on the 4th of July. I am kind of sad about it. I always thought it would be cool but we always seemed to be vacationing in UT over the 4th. Glad you guys had fun and are taking advantage of all the area has to offer. Have you gone crabbing yet? You really should.

that is great - you got to see the wonderful view of the Fireworks there across the river. It looked like a wonderful view of them. You are doing great at catching all the sightseeing while you are there in the D.C. area.

Miss you all.
